Destacó por la técnica y artesanía de sus hermosos tejidos más que por los diseños innovadores y se encuentra entre los primeros diseñadores que produjo también lencería y medias. En 1939, presentó faldas de vuelo de talle muy ceñido: un estilo que en manos de Dior se convertiría en el New Look, en 1947. Fue presidente de la Cámara Sindical de Alta Costura y gracias a su gestión, 92 empresas siguieron abiertas durante la guerra. Él volvió a abrir la suya en 1947.
